Ending 2025 with a flurry of activities

2025 came and went with our weekly Saturday afternoon smokes. This year, we welcomed new members to the group who are primarily from the expatriate community.

There were 2 key highlights of the year. The first was the visit to The Netherlands in October 2025 to attend the annual CIPC meeting. This year was significant. We witnessed the passing of the torch from Cornelius Crans, who held the President position for the past 12 years, to Genny Magrin, the first female to take on the President’s position. Another first was that the slow smoke championship was won by Elisabeth Dobnig, a lady!

In memory of Steffen Mueller, who passed on in 2024, a special pipe show was held over the weekend and it showcased pipes from his “German Avant-Garde” group of pipemakers.

It was an amazing CIPC event and it even made it to the newspapers!

The second highlight was closer to home. In mid-December, Dr Loh showcased a small selection of his prized pipe collection and also sold some of his unique, unsmoked pipes. Some of our members went home very happy with their early Christmas gifts for themselves!

Looking forward to more adventures in the new year!
