My history as a Pipe smoker
I was born in 1986 in Padua and I’m pipe smoker from Italy. I started smoking a pipe in the summer of 2008.
A friend had given me a pipe and invited me to dinner, with other guys who were already smoking it. I took her with me. I was immediately struck and intrigued by the object, but the reason that pushed me was the curiosity to understand if the smell of tobacco can correspond to the same taste. That is: if perfume and taste were the same thing or not. It is safe to say I was not disappointed.
I usually smoke one pipe a day, in the evening after dinner. I also smoke Caribbean cigars, but the pipe remains my main passion. Among my favorite tobaccos are Kendal Dark, Windjammer, Autumn Evening and Virgina Woods, among many others. | particularly love Virginia tobacco compositions, as long as it doesn’t contain Latakia (I can’t really appreciate it, however much I try periodically). I don’t make my own blends, I prefer to buy them.
The pipe occupies a very important place in my life. First of all it is my dimension, where I take refuge to be silent, between thoughts and emotions. But the pipe is not just a passion that I cultivate for myself. Through the pipe I have met beautiful, unusual and special people. Many of them are my closest friends.
My greatest satisfaction, over the past ten years, has been to see people’s reactions, during the events dedicated to the pipe: the participants’ satisfaction, their curiosity and their desire of to deepen, to experiment, and to share the pipe passion.
This is all because in the end, the pipe is both the protagonist and a great pretext for human socialization.
During the 147th Chapter of the Confrerie des Maitres – Pipers de Saint-Claude, held in October 2022, I was nominated and welcomed as a Sister into the Historic Confraternity.
President of Pipa Club Italia
The Pipa Club Italia is the Federation bringing together the 24 Pipe smoking clubs of Italy. I am proud to serve as the President of a historical organization, with more than half a century of history.
My involvement in the club activities started in 2016, when I became a founding member and vice president of “Sottil Fil di Fumo Padova Pipa Club”, a position I still have. From 2019 to 2021 I held the role of director in the Board of Directors and Head of the events and sponsors of the Pipa Club Italia.
In January 2022 I was elected as President of the Pipa Club Italia, serving until the end of the term, in November 2024. My friends and colleagues in the Pipa Club Italia did me the honor of unanimously supporting my re-election for a second term, running until 2027.
